Assassin’s Creed II. Adventures of an Italian in Italy
2007.
The release of one very remarkable game. From the French from Ubisoft. We were waiting for the game. We got the game, but most people threw a bucket of dirt on it because they didn’t get what they wanted. Or what they were promised to give. In any case, the project had its advantages, however, according to many, the disadvantages were more significant.
The game, as everyone understood, was called Assassin’s Creed.
Assassin’s Creed.
Medieval killers.
They were distinguished by strict discipline and the commission of numerous religiously and politically motivated murders.
And then, in that wonderful 2007, we became one of the best – Altair ibn La-Ahad (from Arabic Flying, son of Nobody).
It was necessary to commit nine murders in order to find peace in oneself, because Flying was seriously arrogant.
The murders were committed, Altair was restored to his rank, but.. Al Mualim, the head of the Brotherhood of Assassins, betrayed his people for the sake of an artifact called Piece of Eden. We have won the artifact, this is the end of this story.
And all this was just the memories of one person.
Desmond Miles, descendant of Altair.
Conditional present future. Corporation Abstergo Industries.
Large room illuminated with lots of light. There is a device in the center. "Animus".
Allows you to decode Desmond’s genetic memory, which contains exactly those memories of Altair.
This was necessary in order to see where the famous artifact that killed Al-Mualim was hidden.
2009. Release of a very remarkable game. From the French from Ubisoft.
We were waiting for the game, we received the game. True, only on new generation consoles.
Those who played were delighted. The bucket of dirt they had stored was quickly pushed under the table with their foot.
High marks. One of the best games of the year. Triumph.
2010. Second coming. This time on PC. Triumph again.
And everything seems to be the same: assassin, artifacts, Desmond, “Animus”, the Middle Ages… But the wizards from Ubi did something that made it different. Better. Although some, including the author, were pleased with the first part.
Second half 15th century. https://gamblingsitesnotongamstop.co.uk/non-gamstop-betting-sites/ Italy. Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a goofy guy, watching the death of relatives who were slandered as part of a large political conspiracy. Ezio, following his father’s instructions, finds an assassin’s suit, and from now on his life changes dramatically. Revenge crept into his heart, and he vowed to take revenge on everyone. And he took revenge for a long time.
Meanwhile, Desmond also developed along with Ezio. For what?
Play and find out.
The gameplay is not far from the first part. Same stealth in the crowd, the same quiet (and sometimes not so quiet), but always spectacular kills, the same engine, the same movements (there are many new ones, but
the foundation was laid in the first) … but all this was finally brought to mind. If the first part could be fully enjoyed only by those people who know how to catch interesting moments and get high from them, savor them, then the second part, firstly, simply scatters a bunch of such moments at our feet – it’s simply impossible not to enjoy, and secondly, it does it so beautifully that the heart begins to beat faster… sometimes adrenaline rushes into the blood without knocking, and you understand that such simple things as a quiet murder, or a global fight with partners against mini-armies still operate flawlessly.
There are even more ways to eliminate unwanted people.
Poison Blade, Double Blade (beauty!), gun, built into the blade – this is just a small list. If you combine all this, then you can almost commit the murder of the century due to its complexity and versatility.
The battles that made the first part shine have become even more beautiful.
I still dream about murderous lethal techniques with double blades. The usual swords and short weapons remain, but throwing knives have not gone away. Counterattacks migrated from the first part, but to the credit of the French it is worth saying that new ones have been added.
You can even fight without using a weapon – why take it out, waste time, if it can be taken away from the nearest enemy without any problems? By the way, there are now three types of enemies: regular “meat”, “dodgers” (they run faster than Ezio, so be careful) and heavy artillery, damn it. The latter are especially fatty, and then the approach is different.
Why is this good?? During combat there is an incentive to draw different weapons.
Italy. Renaissance era, that’s all, brother. The atmosphere simply captivates from the first seconds. The huge cities (though this applies only to Venice and Florence, the other two will be much smaller) amaze with their scope and detail, the sounding music finally puts you in a Time Machine and sends you to this country, and the behavior of people… Heralds spread the news (it’s just strange that all the years that Ezio takes revenge on the scoundrels are the same), courtesans are waiting for clients, thieves are hanging out on the roofs… And how many people are there?! And in ANY you can get lost in the crowd, thereby escaping pursuit.
What I would definitely like to point out is this game size. Not in terms of gigabytes of weight, but in terms of duration. She’s really big. Huge. There haven’t been such giants for a long time. The main plot will give a head start to some famous role-playing game, and the elaboration of it, this plot, is also not satisfactory. Additional tasks have become unique. No, they are still divided into “go, kill, beat up, steal,” but due to the motivation to do this, due to the ways to achieve the goal, they become more and more interesting every time. In addition, they extend your stay in the game for a long time.
Introduced economic system. We have been given a village that needs to be raised from its knees. This requires money; money is given for completing tasks of various lousiness. Then, if funds are nevertheless invested in the reconstruction of the settlement, there will be a good income every 20 minutes of the game. Useful at the initial (and not so early) stages.
You can also now change the color of the suit, buy a variety of weapons, ammunition (bullets, poison), medicine; armor should be repaired, because it likes to break if Ezio is hit very hard.
Localization from "Akelly" good. At least you don’t want to spit, and that’s a plus. Russian voices do not spoil the atmosphere. Moreover, there are quite a lot of Italian phrases uttered by Russians, which is a good reminder that the main characters are Italians after all.
It’s hard to talk about AC 2. Because all the elements that are in the game are intertwined so closely that it’s not good to disassemble each of them. The “magic” of the game may be lost. AC 2 should be perceived purely as a holistic project, ideal in many ways. Atmospheric, interesting, beautiful, smart..
Remember him like this.
If Ubisoft wants to finish the series with dignity, they will have to try hard. There is potential, and it is demonstrated in the second part. It needs to be developed correctly. Leave everything you like in two parts and add something new again. Guys, try your best. Because with the second part you have worked hard ten.
